PatientTouch Clinical Communications Implemented at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances

PatientTouch® streamlines care team collaboration to improve quality, lower costs, and enhance patient care 

SAN DIEGO – August 29, 2016 – PatientSafe Solutions, a leader in clinical mobility solutions for healthcare enterprises, today announced that CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Tyler, an acute care facility in Tyler, Texas, selected PatientTouch to deliver on their mobility vision for the 402-bed health system. Deployment of PatientTouch is a multiphase project starting with a communications module that integrates secure text, voice calls and alerts in a single application. The platform has been in active use since early May. PatientTouch embeds real-time patient, care team and EMR data in communication and clinical workflow threads for relevant context to speed communication and improve outcomes. Specimen Collection will be added later this year, allowing care teams to collaborate across departments and specialties in a fully-integrated app.

PatientTouch will be implemented across much of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System’s range of services including: neonatal ICU, maternal and childcare, neurological, cardiac, orthopedic services, routine and specialized medical-surgical care. The platform-agnostic PatientTouch software works on both iOS and Android, and deployed on iPhones used by clinicians across all departments and specialties on shared and personal devices. PatientTouch enables health systems to effectively implement a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy, allowing providers to make informed care decisions both within the hospital and from other settings, without causing any delays in care.

To provide a streamlined communication and collaboration experience, PatientTouch integrates into the hospital’s existing technology including ADT, EPIC, and Active Directory to deliver real-time, patient, care team and clinical information embedded in communication threads and workflows. This one-touch access to contextually relevant data allows for more informed and efficient coordination of care via secure messaging and voice communications.
